Description

The BP Port Fitting, 1-Tube, Large European Tri-Purpose, 10 Pack is the Welch Allyn 1-TPLE FlexiPort Tube Set Accessory. It is a one-tube blood pressure (BP) tube set comprising a bare tube with a large European tri-purpose connector on one end and a FlexiPort port adapter on the other, supplied bagged as a set of connectors. Designed to interface between European-style tri-purpose BP ports and Welch Allyn FlexiPort blood pressure cuffs, it allows a single FlexiPort cuff system to be used with compatible hand aneroid devices and other monitors. Each pack contains 10 one-tube assemblies intended for non-invasive blood pressure measurement in clinical environments.

Indications

Use as a connection accessory between Welch Allyn FlexiPort reusable or disposable blood pressure cuffs and compatible large European tri-purpose blood pressure devices.
Intended for non-invasive blood pressure measurement in healthcare environments such as hospitals, clinics, GP surgeries, outpatient departments and emergency care settings.
Suitable where a one-tube configuration with a large European tri-purpose connector is required, for example when using European hand aneroid sphygmomanometers with FlexiPort cuffs.

Composition

Flexible non-sterile blood pressure tube (one-tube configuration), approximately 79–80 cm in length.
Integrated large European tri-purpose connector at one end, designed to mate with compatible European BP ports.
FlexiPort port adapter at the opposite end for connection to Welch Allyn FlexiPort blood pressure cuffs.

Usage

Intended for use by trained healthcare professionals familiar with non-invasive blood pressure measurement and the FlexiPort cuff system.
Attach the FlexiPort port adapter end of the tube set to the FlexiPort connection on the Welch Allyn BP cuff by pressing it firmly into the port until it snaps securely into place.
Connect the large European tri-purpose end of the tube set to the compatible BP device (e.g., European hand aneroid or monitor) by inserting or engaging the connector according to the device’s design.
Before taking a patient’s blood pressure, verify that all connections are secure and that there are no air leaks by performing a brief test inflation.
Use only for non-invasive blood pressure monitoring; do not use in any invasive line or arterial pressure system.
After use, clean and disinfect the tube set in accordance with local infection-control procedures and the manufacturer’s recommendations, avoiding harsh chemicals that may damage the tubing or connectors.
Inspect tube sets regularly for signs of wear, cracking, discoloration, stiffness or poor connection; discard and replace any tube set that shows damage or does not maintain an airtight seal.

Contraindications

Not for use as an invasive device or in any application requiring sterile, single-use invasive components.
Do not use if the tubing or connectors are visibly damaged, cracked, kinked or unable to maintain a secure, airtight connection.
Not intended for use with non-compatible blood pressure devices or cuffs that are not designed for Welch Allyn FlexiPort or large European tri-purpose connectors.
Do not use in environments where device performance could be compromised by chemical exposure or extreme temperatures beyond those recommended by the manufacturer.

Adverse Effects

No direct patient adverse effects are expected when the tube set is used correctly as a non-invasive accessory.
Improper or loose connections may lead to inaccurate or failed blood pressure readings, potentially contributing to inappropriate clinical decisions if not recognised.
Poorly positioned tubing could cause minor patient discomfort or temporary skin indentation at the cuff site if tension is applied to the line.

Storage Conditions

Store in a clean, dry area at normal room temperature, away from direct sunlight and sources of excessive heat or cold.
Keep tube sets in their original packaging or a suitable storage container when not in use to protect from dust, moisture and mechanical damage.
Avoid contact with oils, solvents or harsh disinfectants that may degrade plastic or rubber components.
Keep out of reach of children and non-clinical personnel.
